Fatt Choy Mui Seafood Restaurant

Finally putting a post up about this place! Was introduced to this place by the wakeboarders many years ago and it is still referred to as "Marmite" by us whenever we arrange to meet there. Jason suggested dinner there and since the rest of them were either not interested or end work too late, the glutTAN adventure saw only 2 of us + Jason + Jun Ren.

They are very conveniently located behind the Old Airport Road Food Center. Situated at Cassia Link just below Blk 34, they have a spacious area to accommodate large groups - perfect for gatherings and such. Especially awesome for people who train around the area and need a good filling meal after training. A meal like that cost us SGD $50 and left us very full.

Kang Kong (requested by Jun Ren, I don't usually order veg)
Jun Ren: "A little belachan would make it better." I personally feel this is very mediocre.

Calamari
* Update (23/09/13) - this dish is no longer available :( *
This dish was superb! Sometimes it's a little over cooked, but this particular visit, it was super super good. Buttery yet not jelat, crisp and sweet. Jun Ren even calles it "heavenly!" Love love this!

Prawn Paste Chicken
Another dish that is sometimes good and sometimes not good. It was overcooked and a little bitter, but on previous visits it was not bad.  The chicken wings are coated in prawn paste before being deep fried.

Marmite Pork Ribs
This is supposed to be their signature dish! That's why we call this place "Marmite" anyway.
Something interesting! If you like Marmite, you should try this! The ribs are of decent size and is fried with Marmite, adding sweetness to the tender meat.

Special Tofu
I haven't figured out if this is special tofu or homemade tofu or some other name, so I usually just say tofu when I order. The clear soya sauce like sauce is awesome! The tofu is fried on the outside, leaving the inner tofu very soft. Another pleaser :)

We had our food paired with rice, but they do offer noodles like hor fun also.

For big groups, sometimes the lady boss even provides dessert on the house!

For a good hearty and (not) wholesome meal. Please visit them soon and tell me what you think!
